In 2012, Salman Khan had offered to pay Rs 40 lakh for releasing around 400 prisoners from prisons in UP via his NGO. The prisoners had completed their term but due to economical reasons, they were unable to pay a legal fine for their charges.

His charitable foundation ‘Being Human’ has struck the right chord with people and fans all over the world and has contributed immensely to charity work by making money for charitable purposes from the Being Human’ website through sale of products like bracelets signed by him, his paintings, sketches as well as the clothes that he has worn in his films. He’s worked for those suffering from cancer and AIDS too.
