We think that we want both rapid and lasting improvement, but sometimes slower is better as this encourages mastery according to Salman Khan, author of The One World School House and founder of the Khan Academy, one of the world’s leading educational sites. I agree, as I have confirmed to myself so many times in the last few weeks while working diligently on my fundamentals.

Success is when Sif Ali Khan replaces Akshay Kumar with an APPY FIZZ BOTTLE....
Failure is when Govinda replaces Jakie Shroff to sell SANDHI SUDHA OIL... :)

Great Muslim Scientists
Science today has been made something alien which does not believe in religions and GOD and which means to rely on human brain and human reasoning and logic and nothing else. Science has been made such a thing that religions dislike it now. In other religions, science is called spirituality it is not related with human reasoning and understanding but it is restricted for those who are known as spirituals. Thus a common man is pushed away from learning the mysteries of the world.
Islam is the only religion which did not restricts its followers to learn the knowledge of the world and to explore the world. In fact ALLAH swt says in Quran to explore the world and see what HE has put in here for us. islam does not restrict its followers to live and die in one place in ignorance rather it encourages us to go and visit the world to find the signs of ALLAH in everything. All that we call miracles of science today are actually signs of ALLAH. Quran said that humans are created from water, and science says humans are 70 percent water. Quran says that moon sun and stars and all that is on sky and in earth and beyond is following a predefined fixed path, we see after millions of the years have passed, neither sun changed its course nor moon nor anything else in the sky changed its course. Everything is moving in the same path and towards the same direction.

It was the muslim scientists who were the pioneers is exploring the world. Their faith never shattered whenever they found something new but their faith grew strong in ALLAH when they found HIS signs in HIS creations.

It was muslims, who were the expert geologists, chemists, physicists, philosophers, astronomers, engineers, doctors, builders, mathematicians etc. they became so expert in their fields that even today science thanks them for their achievements. No matter how much west wants to take credit of all what they have today, they cannot deny the role of muslim scientists and they cannot hide those rare books in their libraries which are written by the muslims and for which these people fight and even kill each other. There is a common story circled in the modern west that there was an arab muslim who knew how to covert metals into gold. This story has inspired many of these people to spend their lives in finding such thing which can convert everything into gold.

This is special blessings on muslims that they can still feel proud over their scientists. No matter what happens, islam and science can never be separated. What is called discovery today are actually signs of ALLAH. There have passed many muslims with greatest achievements in science. Below is given a list of the muslim scientists which are few of the known personalities. (taken from Wikipedia and others).

Controversial speeches
In August 2007, along with other elected
and serving members of his party,
Owaisi made death threats against
Tasleema Nasreen, [19] pledging that the
fatwa against her and Salman Rushdie
were to be abided by. [5] Owaisi said,
"we in Hyderabad want to behead this
woman according to the fatwa." [2]
While speaking at a rally in Kurnool in
2011, Owaisi used the derogatory terms
Kafirs and Kufrastan to refer to MLAs in
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly
and the Legislative Assembly. [3][20][6]
In the same rally he used the Urdu
words katil (murderer), darinda
(monster), beimaan (dishonest),
dhokebaaz (cheat), and chor (thief) for
the former Prime Minister of India P V
Narasimha Rao .[6] Owaisi said that if
Rao had not died, he (Owaisi) would
have killed Rao with his own hands. [3]
[7][6]
In April 2012, Owaisi made derogatory
and demeaning comments against
Hindu god Rama and his mother
Kaushalya. Owaisi asked "Where all did
Ram’s mother go wandering and where
did she give birth to him". [3][21] This
was met with loud cheers from the
audience. [3]
In August 2012, Owaisi claimed while
speaking in Karimnagar that there have
been 50,000 riots in India over 65 years
since the country became independent.
He said that majority of those killed in
the riots were Muslims. [3][22][6]
In September 2012, Owaisi said that he
will not tolerate if the illegal
Bangladeshi immigrants in India are
sent back to Bangladesh . [23][24]
In November 2012, Owaisi spoke in
Hyderabad, referring to the police force
of Andhra Pradesh using the derogatory
phrase "army of impotent people". [25]
He then incited the audience by
challenging the Chief Minister to remove
the police and then see who has more
power. [25] He further added that they
(Hindus or the police force) do not have
the courage to fight Muslims. [3] Owaisi
claimed in another speech that "lakhs
(hundreds of thousands) of Muslims
were killed after Indian independence. [3]
[6]
On 8 December 2012, while speaking at
Nizamabad , Owaisi made fun of Hindu
festivals by saying "we (Muslims) have
only two festivals, they have so many –
one every 10 days." [26] He referred to
the Bhagyalakshmi temple in Hyderabad
several times as "illegal temple". [3][26]
On 12 December 2012, Owaisi made
derogatory remarks with hand gestures
about Hindu goddess Bhagyalakshmi at
a public rally in Nizamabad . [3][27] He
said making hand gestures – "She, who
is sitting," and added, "What is this new
name Bhagyalakshmi, never heard of
her. [27] Shout such slogans such that
the Bhagya also shakes and Lakshmi
also falls down." [27] The crowd then
shouted slogans of Allahu Akbar .[3][27]

Speech at Adilabad
On 24 December 2012, Owaisi
addressed a rally of twenty to twenty-
five thousand people in the Nirmal town
of Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh.
In his two-hour long speech, Owaisi
made multiple comments against
Hindus, Hindu deities, Rashtriya
Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishva Hindu
Parishad , Bharatiya Janata Party,
Narendra Modi, India and United States
of America. [8][9][10][11][12][14][28]
[29] In his speech, Owaisi said that the
250 million Indian Muslims needed only
15 minutes without the police to show
one billion Hindus who is more
powerful. [8][30] Punjab Kesari reported
that Owaisi referred to the Hindus as
"impotent" and the Indian police as the
"impotent army". [29] He said that not
even one crore impotent men can
together father one child. [29] He said
that these people (Hindus) cannot face
the Muslims, and whenever the Muslims
start dominating the Hindus, the
impotent army (police) intervenes. [29]
[31][32][33] Owaisi said that "we
(Muslims) will not let you (India or
Hindus) live peacefully," [34] and added
that the Muslims could "teach the rest
of the country a lesson". [14]
Owaisi referred to Ajmal Amir Kasab,
one of the Pakistani militants of the
2008 Mumbai attacks , as a "child", and
compared him with Narendra Modi . [6]
He asked if Kasab was hanged then why
is Modi not hanged, and said that the
reason was only because Kasab was a
Pakistani and Modi is Indian. He said
that if the Muslims of India united like
the Muslims of Andhra Pradesh,
Narendra Modi would soon be hanged.
[10][11] Owaisi threatened that if his
words were not heard, "O India,
destruction and ruin will be your fate".
[10][28] He threatened that India will
witness a bloodshed which has not been
seen in the last 1000 years. [28][35] He
also dared Narendra Modi to come to
Hyderabad, threatening by saying "we
will show him then". [10] Owaisi justified
the Mumbai bombings of 1993 by
saying they were a reaction to the
demolition of Babri Masjid and
atrocities on Muslims in India. [10][29]
He also questioned the punishment
handed out to the accused of the
bombings, naming Tiger Memon as one
of those punished even though Tiger
Memon is still at large. [10]
Owaisi denigrated Hindu gods in his
speech.[14] Owaisi made derogatory
comments against Hindu god Rama and
his mother Kaushalya.[10][29]
Questioning the birth and the birthplace
of Rama, Owaisi asked "where all did
Kaushalya go to give birth to Rama and
where all did Rama take birth". [10][29]
[21] Owaisi mocked Hindu panentheism,
saying that Hindus have many gods and
goddesses, and every eight days, new
gods keep coming up. [8][36] In a
reference to the Bhagyalakshmi temple
in Hyderabad, he said, "We knew about
Lakshmi, but who is Bhagyalakshmi, we
are not aware." [8][29] He added that he
does not want to ruin the gathering by
taking "abominable names" of Hindu
gods. [37] Owaisi mocked Hindu
cremation by saying "when you (Hindus)
die, you become air after burning and
go astray." [3] Owaisi talked in
derogatory terms about heritage places
of India including Ayodhya , Ajanta
caves and Ellora caves. [3][37][38] He
said that if Muslims go away from
India, they will take the Taj Mahal, Red
Fort and Qutb Minar with them, adding
"What will then remain here? Just a
razed Ram temple in Ayodhya and
naked statues of Ajanta." [37][38]
Owaisi compared the state of Muslims
of India to the state of Muslims of the
world and blamed India and America for
the same. [10] Owaisi said that the
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the
Vishva Hindu Parishad, and the
Bharatiya Janata Party were poisonous
snakes, and to "crush their heads" a
stick is enough. [10]
After the speech, Owaisi left for London
citing "medical treatment" as the
reason. [10] NDTV reported on 3 January
that Owaisi was getting treated for
intestinal injuries he sustained when he
was attacked over a land dispute in
2011. [39] Owaisi returned to Hyderabad
on 7 January. [40]
Legal proceedings
On 28 December 2012, a lawyer K.
Karunasagar filed a petition in a local
court in Nampally of Hyderabad against
Akbaruddin Owaisi. [41] Karunasagar
asked the court to direct the police to
register cases against Owaisi for hurting
the sentiments of Hindus, and for
making inflammatory, derogatory and
offensive remarks. [9][41] Karunasagar
received three death threats on the night
of filing the petition. [41][42] Another
petition was filed by a businessman S
Venkatesh Goud in Hyderabad. [41] The
Andhra Pradesh Human Rights
Commission directed the Hyderabad
Police Commissioner to submit an
inquiry report on the alleged hate
speech by 17 January 2013. [42] On 3
January 2013, Abid Khan, General
Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Congress
Committee, told news channel CNN IBN
that the state government had "taken
cognizance of speech" and they were
"collecting evidence to build a strong
FIR and a water-tight case where we
can book the person causing
hatred." [43] On 3 January, the fourth
additional chief metropolitan magistrate
of the Nampally court directed the
Andhra Pradesh police to register an
FIR against Owaisi. [41] Following this,
the police filed FIRs under three
sections of the Indian Penal Code – 121
(attempting to wage war against
Government of India ), 153A (promoting
enmity between groups) and 295A
(outraging or insulting religion and
religious feelings or beliefs) – against
Owaisi in Hyderabad, Adilabad and
Nizamabad. [41][44] The Director
General of police V. Dinesh Reddy said
that summons were issues to Owaisi
and that the police would take the help
of the Interpol to arrest him if required.
He added that Owaisi would be barred
from addressing public meetings in
future. [41] On 5 January 2013, a case
was filed against Owaisi in Mumbai
while a court in Vadodara served a
notice on him for his alleged hate
speech.[45][46]
Arrested
Owaisi returned to Hyderabad on 7
January 2013 and was welcomed by
hundreds of supporters and MIM leaders
at the Hyderabad airport . [41][47] He
later drove to his house in the Banjara
Hills area of the city. [47] Owaisi failed
to answer police summons at Nirmal
town on 8 January, citing ill-health, and
asked for four days' time to appear for
investigation. [48] A team of doctors
examined Owaisi at his home twice on
7 January and the police declared that
he was fit for investigation, even though
he complained of bad health. [49] Owaisi
also petitioned the High Court of Andhra
Pradesh to quash the cases filed
against him in lower courts. [49] On 8
January, doctors examined him at the
Gandhi Hospital and confirmed that
their tests showed no medical grounds
to prevent his arrest, following which he
was arrested by Hyderabad police. [14]
At the Gandhi Hospital, Owaisi alleged
that that the doctors were trying to
murder him by giving lethal injections.
[50] Owaisi was shifted to the Adilabad
district jail where he is currently
housed. [15] He is charged under seven
sections of the Indian Penal Code which
deal with sedition, criminal conspiracy,
disobeying orders of a public servant,
outraging religious feelings, public
mischief, waging war against India and
creating enmity between communities.
[17]
Criticism
Several notable people and
organisations criticized Owaisi for the
speeches. The Andhra Pradesh
Bharatiya Janata Party president, G.
Kishan Reddy called for booking Owaisi,
annulment of his assembly membership
and de-recognition of All India Majlis-e
Ittihad al-Muslimin. [42] Reddy said that
"...religious bigotry, unabashed
incitement of religious sentiments and
contemptuous insinuation against Hindu
gods and goddesses formed the crux of
the speeches of a person who was
sworn in as an MLA". [51] In a
statement issued by the Confederation
of Voluntary Associations (COVA) on 30
December, several social activists
criticised the speech saying that such
"obnoxious" speeches will lead to
division of society, violation of peace
and conflicts. The social activists
demanded exemplary action to prevent
such "intolerable" acts in future. [51]

Asha Bhosle, A.R.Rahman among latest in growing fad of moonlighting
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If for nothing else, the recent film Mai made news for a composed and harmonious (puns intended!) turn by singer Asha Bhosle in the title-role. And A.R. Rahman plans to turn film director soon. His friend, sound engineer Resul Pookutty, revealed last month that Rahman has completed a course in scriptwriting and film direction in LA One and that, "It is a natural progression for Rahman." The film, he reveals, will be along the lines of Black.

Udit Narayan has produced Bhojpuri films in the '90s, Kumar Sanu had tried his hands at producing, composing music (Utthaan) and even playing the lead in a Bengali film.

With reference to composers, Naushad had produced films and written their stories and screenplays, usually without taking official credit. Salil Chowdhury wrote Pinjre Ka Panchhi and co-wrote several films, including having the credit for the story of Do Bigha Zamin. Singer-composer Hemant Kumar produced the classics Bees Saal Baad and Khamoshi among other films. R.D. Burman has acted in Bhoot Bungla and Pyar Ka Mausam. Hridyanath Mangeshkar turned producer with Lekin in 1991.

Anu Malik played a pandit in Bride And Prejudice and Bappi Lahiri has produced films like Rock Dancer and Love Story 98 and acted in so many films, beginning with Kishore Kumar's production Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi. Kishore himself was the biggest multi-talent of them all - besides his core strengths of acting and singing, he wrote, produced, directed and edited films and also wrote lyrics and composed music - with memorable results in films like Jhumroo, Door Gagan Ki Chhaon Mein and Door Ka Rahi.

Today, Himesh Reshammiya, after trying his hand at singing (from Aashiq Banaya Aapne, though he is also heard a bit in Zameen) and playing the lead (from Aap Kaa Surroor) has also turned film producer and written stories, coming full circle from his beginnings as a producer and story writer of successful television serials like Andaz.

So perhaps moonlighting was always there - but never as huge as it is now. Today, every artiste in the industry wants to try out something else - if not as an alternative career to just exhibit his or her other skills to the world. "Look, I can do this too!" just about sums it up.

But it is also a sign of the changing times in Hindi cinema that people are allowed to do their own thing. In the mid-'90s, Anand Raaj Anand, when he had come to make it in Hindi films as a composer, singer and lyricist, was asked what he actually wished to do. He decided to choose a career as a composer, though he ended up writing lyrics for his first film Masoom and also singing for it. Thanks to this 'decision', he could get opportunities to work with top lyricists like Anand Bakshi and Sameer and have a dominant position that lyricists never have in Hindi cinema unless they made it really big like Bakshi and Sameer!

Circa the late 2000's, Piyush Mishra was luckier - he could simultaneously be a lyricist, composer, singer and actor in assorted films from Gulaal to Agneepath and Gangs Of Waaseypur.

Recently, actor Saba Azad (Dil Kabaddi, Mujhse Fraandship Karoge) has sung the splendid 'Dil Ki To Lag Gayi' as well as the re-created 'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga' in Nautanki Saala! when no one knew that side of her talent. Ayushmann Khurrana, leading man of this film, has sung, co-composed and co-written 'Sadde Gali Aaja' in this film, as he did with 'Pani Da Rang' in Vicky Donor. On the other hand, singer Shweta Pandit tried a fairly good hand at acting in the recent David.

It is the opening up of mindsets to look at people as talents rather than just slot them in specific categories and let them bloom that has enabled so many talents to try what they want. Singer-composer Mithoon has turned lyricist with 3G and crooner Sonu Kakkar has written the Punjabi version of one of the songs in this film, 'Khalbali', without singing it!

Swanand Kirkire, who has achieved a formidable reputation as a lyricist, has often sung in films and acted too, but apart from that he has been assistant director and actor (Eklavya) and writer (Chameli). Prasoon Joshi turned composer with one song, 'Kaun Si Dor', for Prakash Jha's Aarakshan.

A major example of moonlighting was Sanjay Leela Bhansali developing his passion for composing melodies (which was also Raj Kapoor's and V. Shantaram's forte) and taking official credit for the music (a la Bengal's Satyajit Ray) in one song in Saawariya, the entire soundtrack of Guzaarish and the forthcoming Ramleela. Director Govind Nihalani wrote the lyrics of 'Tujh Sang Baandhi Dor' for his film Dev. As we all know, his core strengths are quite different - cinematography and direction, though he co-writes most of his movies in the latter capacity!

We are also aware that most actors and actresses have tried their hand at playback singing, with Amitabh Bachchan becoming spectacularly successful at it. Salman Khan actually tried his hand at writing lyrics ('Most Wanted' from Wanted) besides singing this and several others numbers. He has also given the story ideas for his old films Baaghi and Chandramukhi, besides being credited with the story of Veer. And Dharmendra wrote a Punjabi song, 'Kad Ke Botal', for Yamla Pagla Deewana.

Then we have Danny Denzongpa (Yeh Gulistan Hamara) and Leena Chandavarkar (Lover Boy) singing for other artistes in films in which they did not even act, like Shatrughan Sinha (Alibaba Marjinaa), Mehmood (Do Aur Do Paanch) and Abhishek Bachchan (Paa, in which he sang for dad Amitabh in the track 'Go Meera Go! ') also did!

Guddu Dhanoa, who co-produced Shah Rukh Khan's debut film Deewana and later directed several films, played a negative role in Wanted. Anurag Kashyap also played a key role in Luck By Chance. Of course, Prabhudheva has made a third career out of directing films (Wanted, Rowdy Rathore) besides acting and choreography.

Of course, with Prabhudheva and a lot of such talents, it is about a second career option - Farah Khan and Remo D'Souza being two more examples of choreographers wanting to turn directors.

But we also have the dabblers - Subhash Ghai turned singer in Meri Jung (for a duet with his composer Laxmikant) and wrote lyrics for Jogger's Park, apart from a title-song for a Saira Banu-produced serial with music by Jatin-Lalit, composers with whom he never otherwise worked.

For some artistes, a lucky break may even show them their main area of strength. Amitabh Bhattacharya, who had come to Mumbai to become a singer, assisted Pritam and would write dummy lyrics for him and others. In a matter of months, he got a break as a lyricist and never looked back, even if he continues to occasionally sing. He even has a National award for the song he wrote, 'Agar Zindagi' in I Am! In the past, Raj Khosla and Anand Bakshi, both of whom had come to Mumbai to turn singers, turned to direction and lyrics respectively to emerge as giants in their fields! Of course, Khosla did sing a song or two (as in the 1950 Ankhen), but Bakshi ended up only moonlighting as a singer from Mom Ki Gudia onwards, though he did an acting cameo in Picnic in his struggle phase!

Space constraints forbid many more examples here from the past. But whatever be the cause (or effect), moonlighting is bound to be attractive in a creative field for, as we have seen, various reasons. And in the open environs of cinema today, it will only grow bigger.

★ 2002 hit-and-run case: Salman Khan's appeal adjourned to Apr 29 !

MUMBAI: A court on Monday adjourned till April 29 the appeal filed by Bollywood actorSalman Khan against a magistrate’s order invoking the charge of ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’ in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
The matter was adjourned as Sessions Judge U B Hejib was on leave.
The 47-year-old actor has contended that the magistrate had erred in invoking the charge of ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’ (Section 304 part II of IPC) in the hit-and-run case. The offence under this section attracts ten year jail and istriable by a sessions court.
Earlier, Khan was tried by a magistrate for lesser charge of causing death by negligence (Section 304A of IPC), that provides for a maximum punishment of two years in jail.
After examining 17 witnesses, themagistrate had come to the conclusion that culpable homicidecharge could be made out againstthe actor and transferred the caseto the sessions court for retrial.
Khan has pleaded that the magistrate’s order was “erroneous, bad in law and contrary to evidence on record.”
The magistrate had failed to appreciate that he (Khan) had neither the intention (to kill people) nor the knowledge that his rash and negligent driving would kill a person and cause injury to four others, he said.
One person was killed and four others injured when the Land Cruiser allegedly driven by Khan crushed a group of people sleeping on the pavement outsidea bakery in suburban Bandra in the wee hours on September 28, 2002.

PML-N well placed in NA-118'

THE PML-N is apparently ahead of other political parties in NA-118 Lahore where its real tussle will be with the PTI while the PPP is lagging far behind its both rivals, courtesy energy crisis and corruption.

The PPP and PTI have announced their candidates for the National Assembly and for the two provincial seats, namely PP-137 and PP-138, but the PML-N is yet to finalise name for its candidates for all the three seats.

The PPP has given a ticket to Syed Asif Hashmi, former chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board, who is also contesting from PP-138 while the PTI has awarded the NA ticket to Hamid Zaman whereas on the provincial seats, it has come up with Yasir Gilani from PP-137 and for PP-138 no name has been finalized yet. According to the PTI sources, Mian Mahmood could be the candidate from 138. There are 250,850 total registered voters in the constituency including 142,467 males and 108,383 females.

NA-118, Lahore I, which can rightly be called the gateway to Lahore, comprises a population on both sides of the Ravi and consists of 13 Union Councils, from UC 1, Shahdara, to UC 13, Badami Bagh.

It includes densely populated areas like Shahdara, Kot Shahabuddin, Jia Musa, Dher, Match Factory, Qaiser Town, Haji Kot, Khokhar Road, Khokhar village, entire Badami Bagh, Siddiqia Colony and adjoining areas. Major clans of the constituency are Arain, Kakkay Zai, Rajputs and Kashmiris whereas settlers hailing from the Pakhtoon community are also in good number.

In the 1988 election the area was in NA-92 and the PPP managed to win both the provincial seats, PP-116 and PP-117. In 1990, the PPP, once again, pitched Sheikh Rafique Ahmed who lost with a big margin to the IJI’s Humayon Akhtar.

In 1993, Nawaz Sharif chose NA-92 as his constituency and won the election with even bigger margin against the PPP’s Haji Azizur Rehman Chan. In the by-election, when Nawaz vacated the seat, his brother Abbas Sharif, also managed to win the seat. In 1997, the PPP didn’t pitch any candidate and supported Mian Mehmood Ahmed, of the PML-J who lost to the PML-N’s Mian Azhar.

Dynamics of the constituency changed slightly in post-October 12, 1999 scenario with the emergence of a rebel group from the PML-N in form of the PML-Q. In the 2002 election, the then PML President Mian Azhar contested the election from the area and to the surprise of many, Mian Azhar, who was till the election day considered the would-be PM of the country, witnessed a defeat at the hands of PML-N and JI-backed candidate, Hafiz Salman Butt. During the 2002 election, the PPP stood at number three with Chaudhry Abdul Qadir in the run. In the 2008 elections, PML-N candidate Malik Riaz, a former MPA, won the seat while bagging over 50,000 votes. Syed Asif Hashmi bagged nearly 25,000 votes while PML-Q’s Mian Azhar remained at number three. The PML-N candidates Rana, Iqbal and Dr Asad Ashraf, also won from both the provincial seats. The PML-N initiated some important development projects in the constituency in last five years, especially in Shahdara, including rehabilitation of two-way Baradari Road, starting from Social Security Hospital to Yousuf Park, emergency services at the Social Security Hospital, a 300-bed Hospital at Match Factory and Government Girls College Shahdara besides setting up water filtration plants and improvements of sanitary and infrastructure.

The party, besides its developmental works in the constituency, gave a heavy blow to the PPP by adopting Samiullah Khan, a PPP loyal, who had contested the 2008 polls from the PPP ticket from PP-137.

But this time round, things are a bit different. The PML-N has to face charged youth of Imran Khan who has become an icon for educated youth of the country.

Reports say that total strength of the youth in the voters’ list for 2013 elections is counted at 65 percent and this could surprise many bigwigs in the coming polls if the PTI managed to more all of them in its favour.

On the other hand, the PPP is facing a testing time due it spoor performance at the federal level. According to locals, the PPP’s ship would sink without damaging the PML-N and PTI. But, its supporters still believe that it will win the polls on the basis of ‘performance’, particularly in this constituency where it launched several important, pending projects between 2008-2013.

Asif Hashmi, PPP contender from this constituency, had significant footing in the area due to some projects which he managed to execute due to his close affiliation with former PM Yusuf Raza Gilani. The first major credit he has managed to achieve is the shifting of the Ravi Toll plaza, a project that had been pending for nearly four decades. Population of Shahdara, which had to pay toll many times a day even while traveling within the City, got respite from the practice as the toll plaza has been shifted miles away from its previous place. Besides, amid severe criticism from the PML-N, Asif Hashmi also gave employment to hundreds of residents of Shahdara and other parts of the constituency in the ETPB.

As elections are approaching fast but, due to ongoing strict scrutiny process of the Election Commission, confusions had not died down as yet in the camps of political parties for gearing up election campaign due to fair of disqualifications of their key contenders.

Majority of voters from the area have made up their minds to vote for the PML-N as the party government completed many development works in the province, especially in Lahore. Some are also of the view that as Sharif brothers are Lahorites so they would vote for them at every cost. PTI supporters are hopeful that the PTI would emerge as victorious.

A large number of people, when asked would they vote for the PPP, replied in the negative.

Sohail, a resident of Shahdara who runs a shop said no one deserved their votes but as Imran Khan was the least corrupt so he would vote for the PTI. He believed that 90 percent of youth’s vote would go for the PTI. He regretted that there were many educated and honest politicians in the PML-N but why all the significant posts go to the Sharifs family only.

Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah of Chah Meeran said that all other parties jad been tested so its time for change and he would vote for the PTI. According to him, construction of roads, induction of Metro buses in transport sector was not enough for common man as he needed livelihood.

Tasleem, an oil vender from Saleem Garden, Ravi Clifton, said he would vote for Imran. He said its time for voters to think either they should vote on the basis of Bradari (clan) or for the well-being of Pakistan.

Muhammad Akbar, an old man, resident of Jiya Musa, said he would vote for local candidate as it would be easy to reach him when he needed help.

A local PPP worker of the constituency also stated that this seat, by all means, was the strongest seat of PPP in Lahore where the party had taken steps for development.

Yasir Gillani, a PTI ticket holder from PP-137, talking to The News agreed that PTI’s main rivals in the constituency would be the PML-N. He said they had made a comprehensive strategy for the election campaign, including door to door contacts.

Yasir said PML-N projects wouldn’t create much difference in the polls. “PML-Q had also completed many such projects before 2008 election but results proved nightmare for the party,” he said.

Syed Asif Hashmi, talking to the scribe, said the PPP had executed record number of projects in the area as well as in Lahore. He also said the PPP believed in empowerment of masses and it had taken all the measures to facilitate people who were also given jobs during its tenure. To a query, Hashmi said he was optimistic for winning NA-118 seat.

Many attempts were made to contact PML-N Lahore President and former MNA Pervaiz Malik but he was not available for comments.

On Sunday, The News contacted again but the operator of Malik Pervaiz said ‘Sir’ was in the meeting and he would be free after an hour. When The News contacted after an hour, the operator repeated the same reason and asked to call again after an hour.

Shahrukh Khan to do an Item Song in Salman Khan's Dabangg 3!

The unbelievable and the unimaginable has happened! Salman Khan has agreed to rope in his archrival Shahrukh Khan for an item song that will feature Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, Sohail Khan, and bhai himself!

Salman Khan, we hear, has given his nod to shoot a song with Shahrukh Khan for his next, Dabangg 3. The Being Human star is so keen to have his decided to cough up Rs 35 crore to have SRK shake a leg in an item song in his action thriller. A little birdie has also chirped to us that Shahrukh, who was first reluctant to do this number, agreed when the remuneration to shake his well-choreographed booty in just a four - minute long item song was hiked from Rs 25 crore to Rs 35 crore.

Industry sources tell us that Dabangg 3's director Arbaaz Khan wanted to rope in Aamir Khan for the said track, but then Sallu decided to change the play radically. After pondering much over various options, he decided to call up Shahrukh just to create more sensation about this number. We also hear that Sallu first offered Rs 25 crore, but SRK renegotiated the fees and finally settled for a mind boggling Rs 35 crore. Also, a special clause will be added in the contract according to which Shahrukh will not take any instructions from bhai while filming. Only Arbaaz will direct SRK on the sets and Sallu will only enact the scenes without much discussions with the Ra.One actor.

Titled 'Meri Purani Dushmani Yaari Se Hain', this song will feature SRK, Salman, Arbaaz, Malika Arora Khan, Farah Khan and Navjot Singh Sidhu. To be shot in pristine locales - from Maldives to Mangalore and from Morocco to Monaco - this song will have many war by Pritam, and Bappi Lahiri will lend his melodious voice to this high-octane number.

The secret birdie has chirped to us that to avoid possible fights between the two superstars, the producers of the movie will have more than 100 guards at their disposal. The shooting for this song will start on April 31, 2013.
